ViperOne of the biggest names in Brazilian heavy metal in the world, VIPER will play classics and new songs at Arena Itaú by TikTok on the same day as Iron Maiden, Dream Theater and Sepultura

Rio de Janeiro, August 30, 2022 – VIPER will be performing at Rock in Rio 2022, the biggest festival in music history. The show will be on September 2, the opening day of the event, at 3:55 pm, at Arena Itaú by TikTok, one of the most incredible spaces in the City of Rock. The show will be streamed on @itau’s TikTok profile.

“It will be very exciting to play once again at Rock in Rio, a festival that was essential for the musical formation of VIPER. In 1985, in the first edition, we were teenagers when we watched in amazement the performance of Iron Maiden, and it is a huge honor to know that we will be playing on the same day as our idols. It will be one of those shows that will be forever marked in the memory, because it will also represent the rebirth of the band: the new album, “Timeless”, is the first of new songs in fifteen years”, says Felipe Machado, guitarist of VIPER.

“Singing at Rock in Rio will be the realization of a boy’s dream that a few years ago could not even imagine being at an event of this magnitude. I am grateful for the opportunity to take the stage in another show that will be historic for my career and for the trajectory of the band”, says vocalist Leandro Caçoilo.

VIPER’s lineup includes Leandro Caçoilo (vocals), Felipe Machado and Kiko Shred (guitars) and Pit Passarell (bass). Drummer Guilherme Martin, who is recovering from an accident in the USA, will be replaced by Marcelo Campos. It is the second time that VIPER plays at Rock in Rio. In 2013, the group performed at the festival with singer Andre Matos and played a legendary show on the Sunset Stage, where more than 50,000 people sang along with the band classics such as “Living for the Night” and “Rebel Maniac”.

The VIPER production at Rock in Rio is a partnership between Wikimetal and TC7 Produções.
