VIPER releases new version of “Prowler”, by Iron Maiden
Postado em 02/12/2021

Prowler “Prowler”, Iron Maiden’s first album classic, is the second single from the new version of “All My Life”, VIPER’s classic originally released in 2007 that finally arrives to digital platforms in remixed and remastered edition. Composed by Steve Harris, “Prowler” was in the demo that formed the basis for the repertoire of “All My Life”.

VIPER never hid his admiration for Iron Maiden. Since the beginning of their career, the British band has always been a great source of inspiration for musicians. Despite playing several songs by their idols at shows – VIPER knew how to play all Iron Maiden songs up to the album “Powerslave” – this is the only record of a studio version.

The formation of the VIPER that recorded “Prowler” predates the one that went into the studio for the “All My Life” sessions. In 2005, vocalist Ricardo Bocci hadn’t even joined the band, so the vocals are from Pit Passarell, vocalist at the time. Drummer Guilherme Martin, who recorded “Prowler”, was also replaced by Renato Graccia in “All My Life”, and only returned to the band in 2012. This demo was recorded in his studio, Guillas Studio, and produced by Val Santos, who I had not yet joined the VIPER either. The guitars for “Prowler” were recorded by Felipe Machado and Yves Passarell, now at Capital Inicial.

Released for the first time on digital platforms, “All My Life” brings songs like “Come on Come on”, “Miles Away”, “Love is All”, with the participation of Andre Matos, and one of the most beautiful ballads of VIPER, “ Violet”, among others. In addition to “Prowler”, the disc also has other bonus tracks recorded in the demos that gave rise to the album.

“All My Life” brings the so-called “V3”, VIPER’s third classic formation that featured Ricardo Bocci (vocals), Pit Passarell (bass and vocals), Felipe Machado and Val Santos (guitars) and Renato Graccia (drums). The album was produced by André Cortada and Marcos Yukio, co-produced by Theo Vieira. The new version, which will also be available on CD, was remixed by Cortada and Val Santos. The remastering was done by Cortada and the cover of the single is by João Duarte. A FMLabs/ Wikimetal/ Formusic release.

VIPER

VIPER was the first Brazilian heavy metal band to make a huge success in Japan. In the early 1990s, they reached the top of the charts ahead of big names in the world like Nirvana and Van Halen. With albums such as “Soldiers of Sunrise”, “Theatre of Fate” and “Evolution”, VIPER recorded and toured Europe, the United States and South America. During the tour in Japan, they recorded the live album “Maniacs in Japan – VIPER Live”. The band’s first formation featured vocalist Andre Matos, who later left the group to form Angra e Shaman. The vocalist died in 2019, being honored by VIPER with the song/clip “The Spreading Soul Forever”. VIPER’s new album is currently being mixed, in New York, by producer Maurício Cersósimo. It is the first unreleased album in 15 years and will be released in the first half of 2022.
